ADULT EDUCATION

SPRING SESSION 2013

           

            All classes begin on March 26^th.  Classes will be held at Hamilton High School unless otherwise stated.  Please contact the high school to pre-register as most classes will have a limit as to the number of seats available.  Please call Diane at 375-6060, ext. 0 to register.

 

Adult Basic Education and GED Test Preparation:  For those 16 years or older and not enrolled in public school. Orientation and pretests are on Mondays starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Literacy Bitterroot Building, Hamilton.  GED testing is the first Monday of every month in room 12 at the Westview Center.  All classes are free.  Classes are available in Corvallis (High School, room 4) and Darby (301 Main) on Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and in Pinesdale on Wednesday, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  Hamilton GED classes are Monday and Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  ESL classes are Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Contact Dixie Stark 363-2900 for location and more information.

 

ORGANIC GARDENING IN ZONE 4: Helpful information for all levels.  Topics to cover:  site location, soil and nutrients, plant growth, composting, season extenders and vegetable gardening. Tuesdays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. 12 hours of instruction for $24.00.  Room 123 – Hamilton High School. Instructor, Bill Brooks (363-1787).

 

 

ipad--youpad--we all pad:  Want to learn how to use your new I-Pad and get the best apps?  Use it efficiently?   Maybe you are considering a purchase, but have not done so yet.  Come on in and play around with the I-Pad.  Limit 10 students.  We will be offering two opportunities to take this class. First class will be March 26, April 9 and 16.  Second session will be April 23, 30, and May 7.  Tuesdays, 7:00-9:00 p.m.  6 hours of instruction for $12.00. Room 105 – Hamilton High School.  Instructor, Sharon Mattix (375-6060).

 

Finish It Up:  This class gives you the opportunity to finish up those unfinished sewing and quilting projects before outdoor work takes over.  There will be no formal instruction, just assistance as you need it to complete projects. Tuesdays, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. 15 hours of instruction for $30.00.  Room 130 – Hamilton High School.  Instructor, Laurie Dunbar.

 

INTRODUCTORY GOLF:  This class will be for beginners and those wanting to brush up on the golf fundamentals.  We will go over the basic rules and each week cover different skills.  Please bring a Putter and Pitching Wedge for the first class. Tuesdays, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. 12 hours of instruction for $24.00 or $5.00 a session.  Room 101 – Hamilton High School.  Instructor, Jim Simeroth.
