Congrats to the Bronc tennis team on their wins over East Helena! Here's the recap from Coach Dufresne:
Both Broncs teams had great performances today - even with three of our players (Janessa Chaplin, Dawson Berglund, and Jacob Rollins) off securing another Envirothon state championship (whoop whoop!). The girls took down East Helena 5-2 while the boys beat them 6-1. AND, mother nature cooperated to some extent to where we even saw the sun in spurts. Proud of this team from top to bottom. They continue to display character and effort each an every day.

The safety and security of our students is always a top priority.
This is why the district spends a great deal of time planning and preparing administrators, teachers, and staff for emergencies. This year the district planned a large scale reunification drill for Daly Elementary School.
Committed to our kids, our schools, our town.

Summary of the tennis team's win over Butte Central from Coach Dufresne:
Bronc tennis rounded out the week in Butte Central on Saturday. The team on the whole traveled over 850 miles from Monday to Saturday! Bus rides have been a mix of sleep, chatter, silence, laughter, and some raucous games of Uno. The boys beat Butte Central 6-1. Jacob Rollins and the doubles team of Finn Dufresne and Jason Chaplin played nail biting matches that were won in a third set tie-breaker. Both Andy and Colin won in straight sets, continuing their undefeated play. Speaking of undefeated, the boys team has yet to lose a dual. The girls, playing short handed because of a couple of injuries, battled to a 4-3 win. The team heads down the valley to face rival Corvallis tomorrow at 3:00. The first dual provided some electric tennis. Should be another amazing day on the courts.

Congrats to both the boys' and girls' tennis teams on their home wins yesterday! Here is the recap from Coach Dufresne:
Another fun-filled day on the courts. The Hamilton Broncs tennis team took on Loyola, Stevensville and Darby. The Broncs swept Loyola with the boys winning 6-1 and the girls 5-2. Stevensville and Darby, whose numbers are both down, combined teams to facilitate a full slate of matches. Singles wins against Stevensville/Darby came from Andy Purcell, Colin Hanley, Alain Mendizabal, Jacob Rollins, and Lily Monaco. All the girls were playing up two seeds in an effort to improve their game and embraced the challenge. Doubles teams Finn Dufresne/Jason Chaplin, Dawson Berglund/Jonah Wilhelm, AB Shroettke/Conner Reed, Anna Twardoski/Alexis Kaul and Tessa Lewanski/Jasmine Jimenez all posted wins as well. The team continues to work hard and is improving from top to bottom. Hard to believe we are over halfway through the season. Time flies when you are having fun. The Broncs head to Butte Central Saturday.

HHS AP Art Student Matilda Pinjuv:
I make art because I think art is cool. It's a great way to express creativity and stuff. I also really like looking at art and seeing people's creative vision and learning the actual process behind artwork. Art is a great way to communicate thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way to be understood and appreciated by others. It also helps to see the world in new ways and new perspectives. I also enjoy being able to make something I think looks cool and seeing my ideas come to life. I get a lot of inspiration from different types of media and also the things I experienced. My art focuses on my dreams and how they affect my reality and vice versa.

HHS AP Art Student Lily Toenjes:
My name is Lily Toenjes and I am a senior at Hamilton High School. Art has been one of my passions for as long as I can remember. It all started when I would paint in Barbie coloring books, and then it progressed into something that is very important in my life. Art is my therapy. I can express myself in ways I can’t while speaking… and it’s always there for me. I love the freedom I have while creating art. I use art as an outlet for myself and this piece demonstrates reflecting on my past and how that can feel chaotic and at times scary.
